Heater Installs That Can Save Electricity

As much as half the energy in your home is used by your heating and cooling system. As we get deeper into the winter season, emphasis is placed on reducing costs created by your heating system. Older heaters are known to inefficiently consume energy, so we’re going to discuss heater installs that save electricity.

Ductless heaters. A ductless heat pump typically has a wall mounted indoor unit and an outdoor compressor. They’re known for their energy efficiency. In most homes, you’re wasting energy due to the ductwork. Ductless system are also powered by inverter-based compressors that speed up or slow down based on the needs of the system instead of shutting down completely like other HVAC systems do

Geothermal heat pumps. Geothermal heat pumps exchange heat with the ground as opposed to the air, which is a more efficient process than traditional heat pumps. Geothermal heat pumps have pipes which drive heat from the ground. The heat can be extracted no matter its temperature.

Variable-Speed heaters. The term “variable speed” refers to the inner blower of a furnace. A variable-speed furnace can change its compressor speed, and it precisely controls the amount of airflow directed throughout the home. This is more efficient than normal blowers because it goes to higher speeds only when needed. This consumes a low amount of energy.
